Thank you for trusting me with your time and money to share my knowledge on Hydroponics farming, hopefully by the end of this session I would have not only inspired you to go out there and start your own farming but also equipped you with the basic fundamentals that you may share with those around you and empower people. A number of people are under the impression that I have a degree in farming or have attended a number of courses to be able to farm with such great results. So I thought it will be good to share a slight background; I hold a Bachelor’s in technology Degree in Accounting from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master’s Degree in Business Studies from Gloucestershire University in the United Kingdom a mother of two lovely daughters and the now the founder of 160 HydroFarm Zimbabwe. I have always had a passion for farming from a young age. My girls have seen me growing our food but I wanted a new method that would be easy to maintain and commercialize as well as maybe lure them into farming. The Hydronics project began early January 2018. After some trials of the farming procedure, we established 160 Hydro Farm in April 2018. There is something addictive about planting a seed, watching it germinate and grow, this has been a huge drive in seeing through my hobby of farming. The journey of hydroponics farming has been thrilling and full of learning experiences and experiments. I now have more than 5 running systems and am expanding in my own backyard. I started with only iceberg lettuce and I now have 5 lettuce varieties, herbs, tomatoes and micro-greens. As well I have now started training people such as yourself in Hydroponics farming. So there you have it, I grew my hobby into a venture that has inspired hundreds and here we are now . I hope you enjoy the training and find it insightful I look forward to seeing you growing your veggies hydroponically soon!
